As part of the 4th Annual CAV Forum, Chaim delivered a detailed technical session examining the critical role of welding in determining the protective integrity of civilian armoured vehicles.
The presentation focused on why welding quality is fundamental to ballistic and blast protection, and why armour performance is only as strong as its welded joints. Key considerations included weld planning, equipment selection, welder qualification, and adherence to recognised international standards.
Chaim Daon, CEO of Arc-Eyes and an accredited AWS welding inspector, explained what procurement teams, fleet managers, and technical specialists should look for when assessing armoured vehicle production quality — and why failures in welding directly translate into failures in protection.
